This sweet glimpse was the reminder that I needed this morning.
.
Life doesn’t always go as planned. Our plans get interrupted and suddenly we find ourselves on a less desirable path. One that is uncomfortable and even painful at times.
.
This particular time was a 5am wake up call I didn’t plan for. I even went to bed early so I could catch up on sleep. Instead the last few hours of rest were spent on the outer 6” of my king-sized mattress with an arm on my forehead.
.
While this may seem like a silly analogy to some…. It’s these very “simple” events that God can use to teach us the most.
.
Life interruptions aren’t always a child waking up in the middle of the night. Sometimes it’s a speeding ticket. Sometimes it cancer. Other times it’s an argument with my husband. Sometimes it’s rained out baseball game. Other times it’s a life-threatening illness in your child.
.
These are just a few of my life interruptions. Some a lot “heavier” than others. But that doesn’t mean the lessons God wants me to learn are any less important. He can use anything in our life to give us a glimpse of heaven on this earth. God is everywhere. 10 years ago I would’ve never had planned for my life to look how it does now. Thankfully I am not the author of my own story.
.
Thank you Lord for the reminder to just stop and rest in you. To trust you just as much in the hard times as I do in the good times.
